Two more suspect have been arrested in connection with the attack on the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Prof. Chukwuma Soludo by gunmen on the evening of Wednesday, 31st March, 2021, which led to the death of three police men and abduction of the Anambra State Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, DSP Ikenga Tochi confirmed this in an interview with newsmen at the Anambra State Police Command Headquarters Amawbia on the 1st of April, 2021.
Addressing the press on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, the PPRO DSP Tochi explained that intensive investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest those involved in the attack as the arrested suspects are helping police investigation.
Recall that Anambra state Police Command announced the arrest of one suspect in connection with the attack on the day of the attack.
He called on Ndi Anambra to help the police with any vital information that will aid the investigation in other to assist the police in the protection of life and property of Ndi Anambra.
Speaking on the abducted Commissioner, the PPRO explained that the command is doing what they can to ensure his safe release although his whereabout is still unknown.
He maintained that those causing tension in the state through any means will not go unpunished.
For obvious security reasons, the names of the arrested suspects are undisclosed.
